We have many people in our family with very sensitive skin, and nearly all of us get headaches and or stomach aches when exposed to scents. Because of this, we have hardly anything scented in our home including essential oils, as even those cause us headaches (yes, even from Young Living or Doterra:) )
For many years, Pthalates have been added to all of the fragrance oils, used as a solvent and to make the scent long lasting or linger. They are present in nearly everything scented, from dish soap to candles. They can cause cancer, fertility issues, and damage the liver, lungs, and kidneys. The Pthalates are what gave us head aches, so when we started making soap, we wanted to make sure that we only had Pthalate-free scents. We found many sources for such scents, many produced from diluted Essential oils, and were very happy to find out that they don't cause any of the side effects we have from most scents. We have been so happy to be able to have a few nice smelling things again, and now we get to share them with you.
What is in our soap??
The base of every soap is olive oil, our own tallow, coconut oil, distilled water, our own milk, sodium hydroxide lye, castor oil, and our own honey. We carefully select our oils to make sure that they are only the best and sustainably produced, as well as being careful with our additives as so many products can cause concerning allergic reactions, and who wants chemical and dye filled products being absorbed into their skin? We certainly don't! So nothing synthetic, no harmful chemicals, no SLS, no Pthalates, no petroleum, and no unnatural dyes here.
Our additives include the following: Sodium Lactate to hydrate skin and harden the bars which makes them last longer; our milk and honey whose properties help to make the bars smooth, cleansing and luxurious; natural fragrance or essential oils; various oxides, spices, mica, and clays as colorants as well as for their many health benefits. The end product is a smooth, cleansing, enjoyable bar that you can use worry-free!

Sweet Nothing

Because of all the extra milk, honey, and oatmeal in this soap, it is especially good for those with extra sensitive skin and those suffering from inflamed/itchy/irritated skin. Raw honey is famous for its healing properties, and milk has been known as an excellent moisturizer for hundreds of years, so it's no wonder that these fantastic ingredients paired with colloidal oatmeal make such a great soap. $6.00

Sweet Nothing-unscented with oatmeal, chlorophyll and turmeric
The base of this soap is the same as our Sweet Nothing with oatmeal and extra honey, but with the addition of skin super-food, chlorophyll. The chlorophyll adds its many anti-inflamatory, anti-microbial, and anti-oxidant properties as well as magnesium, which helps your skin produce vitamin C and has been used to help itchy and red skin - perfect for extra sensitive or irritated skin. Chlorophyll is also very high in the vitamins A, C, E, and K, all of which promote healthy, happy skin. These are especially good facial or sensitive skin bars, but they are also great all around. $6.00

Pumice
This unscented soap has pumice and powdered orange peel for extra scrubbing power. We also added extra honey for added moisturizing power. It would be a great gardener's or mechanic's soap, for use on heels, ankles or other calloused areas, or just for someone you wants a bit more scrubbing strength.

Creamy Coffee
We used the same coffee scent used in the many previous batches we have made of this soap, so it still has that delicious fresh coffee smell, with a dollop of rich cream. Any coffee lover would adore one (or more!) of these bars. We also added colloidal oatmeal and coffee grounds to this soap for some gentle exfoliation and soothing anti-inflammatory properties..

Sea Salt
Sea Salt is a new fan favorite - we added it to the regular lineup because it's so popular! It is a favourite at our home as well. This soap has pumice and sea salt added for exfoliation and scrubbing power. Top notes of bergamot and jasmine, middle notes of sandalwood, tomato leaf and black pepper, and base notes of lemongrass and amber.

Another favourite at our house, this soap's scent is a rich cinnamon combined with cream and sweet vanilla. Colloidal oatmeal gives it gentle exfoliating power.

This is another soap that we make every year, with colloidal oatmeal and poppy seeds for exfoliating power.
Top notes of plum and clove leaf, middle notes of cardamom and sandalwood, and base notes of amber and vanilla.

These bars, besides having the soothing scent of Lavender, have chlorophyll and green clay in them. Chlorophyll has so many great properties, including anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-oxidant, as well as being rich in Magnesium and vitamins A, C, E, and K. Scented with 100% Lavender essential oil, this soap will help to gently cleanse, polish, and exfoliate the skin.
